July so far!

Well July has been a busy one for us. I guess like most of you! We had some fun adventures. We went to Eaglewood Golf course to see fireworks. We Sat just by the 1st hole t-off spot(whatever that is called) There was a little tree for shade that my parents got to sit under so the rest of us got the hot sun! It was fun. My Mom, Dad, Malene, Heath, Angie, Madison, Morgan and our neighbors the Woodruff's and our friends the catenzaro's joined us. It was fun. We played cars. Went down in the crowd and saw a few old friends and watched the Fireworks. Parker even watched them with awe. I had to cover his eyes with the real strob like looking ones and the finally I covered his ears just in case. Colby said he was scared of them and asked for his Mommy(which I doubt he did because he never does. I think Tim was trying to make me feel better). We even didn't get into a traffic jam down the mountain. On the 4th of July We went with Grandma and Grandpa to the centerville parade it seems to be a tradition for us now we always sit by our dentist office. It was fun. I think Colby liked getting the candy. We spent the rest of the day just hanging out. I made enchiladas for dinner and had Grandma and Grandpa over. They were actually pretty good. Just hope I can remember how I made them for next time.

I started a Cake decorating class with Malene last week. It's going to be fun. Of course Malene turns to me in the middle of it and says what have I gotten myself into! Can't wait to see her first cake.

Last night we had our first little sickness with Parker. He has slept through the night since 2 weeks old and last night he kept waking up so finally after an hour of laying with him I unbundled him(which is the reason he sleeps through the night) and he was all sweaty. I felt is head and he was on fire. He had a temperature and he was coughing and snorting when breathing. I fed him thinking he would want to eat because he was awake but I don't think he cared because he is use to not eating at night. Well right when I got done he threw up all over me. Not just spit up but throw up. I didn't know a little think to get rid of so much I felt so bad. Needless to say I was short about 6 hours of sleep. Luckly it was saturday to sunday night so It wasn't a work day of waking up at 4:30 in the morning. He seems better now but I hope he can make it through the night tonight sleeping.

We took Colby to Lagoon for the first time. We took him on easy stuff first like the boats and cars and puff the magic dragon. We finally met up with our friends the catenzaro's and he was more eager to go on rides with their two little boys and Weston was so cute helping him get on the rides. But at the end of the night we took him on the two scarier kids rides. He didn't like us after that. They have a kid type Rocket ride. Yeah he didn't like that. and the swings that go over the lake well they kind of have a kid one and he didn't like that. Oh well we had fun and I had fun watching him.

We went to Kangaroo zoo yesterday with Colby's Cousins will my sister tended them. It's a place that has blow up slides and bouncy stuff. Colby was leary at first but then started to like it. He didn't like the slides at all though. Tim made him go down one and he was so mad. But of course when we went to leave. He threw a fit! Madison was a little dare devil she went down every slide even the one that went up to the ceiling. Nobody tell her parents. But she loved it!!! It was cute to see her go!

Well next weekend starts our camping vacations. I will update you then. Hopefully our camera will be functioning a little better so I can get pictures. Sorry it's been broken!

Babysitter funnies

So I have a funny!!! I thought one night I would help get the diaper bags packed for the next morning. We had put both Boys down for bed and so I went and got Parker 2 outfits. I didn't know if the 0-3 months size would fit anymore because he's getting long and it snapped between the legs so I grabbed a 3-6 month out fit of jean shorts and button up shirt. I couldn't grab Colby an outfit because we had already put him to bed and didn't want to wake him up. So I told Tim I got Parker's outfit. Well the next morning Tim didn't realize I didn't grab Colby an outfit. Well I got a phone call from My mom at 7:30 that morning saying "Did you know you brought Colby a 3-6 month outfit?"I told her it was intended for Parker if the other one didn't fit. She said Tim didn't bring Colby one then. She then said "well the outfit kind of fits Colby" So what would make her even try it on him? Did she think it was his and didn't notice the size and put it on or saw the size and thought I'll try it anyways. Needless to say Colby got to wear that outfit all day. It fit pretty good for the size. I mean he's almost 3 years old wearing 3-6 month clothes. We even took him to Costco in it. Below are proof of it fitting ok and some more pictures

New work schedule

For those of you who live in Utah you may have heard the Governor has mandated that all state employees work 4 ten hour shift. Well I already worked that schedule and since Tim also works for the state he now gets to work that schedule with me. So starting August 4th we will both work Mon-Friday 7:00 am -5:30 am (time might change but Tim's whole office has to work those times, I have a little more flexibility) The bonuses are that me and Tim can both get the kids ready in the morning and off to the babysitters and we can ride into work together and only use one car and save tons on gas. The only downside is that the Kids have to get up earlier and Grandma and Grandpa will have a longer day tending them. They are awesome grandparents and parents we wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. I thank my lucky stars everyday we have them in our lives and they do spoil us!!! I try to spoil them as much as possible but I am not as good at they are to us!!! Thanks mom and dad you are a true blessing in our life and boy are your blessings going to be big in heaven.

busy as a bee

It's been a busy summer so far for us! For those of you know me well I spend a lot of time at my parents and that's my only place to blog because we are to cheep to get the internet or a computer. Long story short. You see how long it's been since I could just come hang out at my parents house. I haven't been here in so long I haven't gotten to blog a lot. So here's an update. What have we been up to. We have had a couple of fun BBQ's at our house. We first had a BBQ with all the "kids" from my old WX neighborhood. Who aren't so much kids anymore as adults with kids themselves...well there's still one kid....Chris...who will always be that way! No relation I swear! It was good to see all those who still live around here and see all their spouses, children and friends. We had a BBQ with our neighborhood. We invited all those who built a home with our builder. It gives us a cut off point. Otherwise we would end up inviting the whole ward. Not as many came this year as last because of their busy summer schedules but it was fun! It's nice to socialize with those you live by. I am a flake at taking pictures so sorry no pictures. We have spent the rest of our time playing with our kids and keeping up on the yard's and working. That's a low down on summer!

What have the boys been up to!

I just wanted to say a little now about my boys!! The loves of my life!

Colby what cute rambunckious(sp) boy. He is so cute. He is starting to sign Jesus wants me for a sunbeam, I am a Child of God and Rock a bye( a song him and grandma sing). It's so cute. Out of the blue in the car he just started singing them. I didn't even know he knew them because I hadn't ever gotten him to sing them! I loves CARS (the movie and toy cars) and he loves every sport he can get his hands on! He actually is pretty good with hand and eye coordination!!!

Parker besides being a baby is pretty darn cute!! He is a western Davis through and through. He looks like my dad and heath and he is chunky like us :) He is smiling and just laughed for the first time today it was so cute. He was probably laughing at how funny looking I am but all in all he laughed and it was cute!!!

Well with today being fathers day I just wanted to say HAPPY FATHERS DAY to the best husband in the whole world. Every time I am with my grandma she tells me how lucky I am to have Tim as a husband because he is a great father!!! And that he is. Not many dads will do what he does. HE has gotten up with the kids at night more than I have and has changed more diapers than me.....and he will play with the kids for as long as they want. We love him and love all he does for us and continues to do for us!!! We may be poor financially.....but man we are rich in love.....HAPPY FATHER'S DAY we love you!!!!!

Weeks gone by

A couple of weeks have gone by what have the Davis' been up to! We said good bye to our Grandpa Davis. We miss him so much but we know he is doing much better. I know he is not sick or in pain anymore. I am amazed when I go to visit my Grandma now how peaceful her house is and you can feel by Grandpa is there sending love and peace to us. We love you Grandpa and miss you tons!!!

I had my 29th birthday....wow am I old! I had a fun filled day. My mom, sister, and neighbor Trina went to Color Me Mine. It's a place that has pottery you can color and they fire it. It was fun. I did a platter with it turned out pretty cute except for a few human painting mistakes. We then went to The Cheesecake Factory! I swear we each gained 20 pounds....it was good but we were pretty sick! I then spent the day with my wonderful husband and kids after that and it was fun just being with them. I did go to dinner with my parents, sister, sister-in-law and my niece's, my Grandma and my family the next friday we went to Elmatador. It was fun!

Tim and I are playing Softball for the church....we are learning we are out of shape and practice. Tim is hitting the ball really well and knows how to place it so no one can catch it!!! I on the other hand have already pulled every muscle possible in the 2 games I have played. We didn't have enough women in our ward want to play so we combinded with another ward the 13th ward.. It was cool because they all showed up with their baseball bags and own bats and balls and baseball gear which shows they play a lot so we are doing pretty good!

I have gotten a new hobby. I love making creative cakes for birthdays, showers etc. I have made, barbie cakes for princess themes, I have made a star wars cake with a rock and molt and lava with bubbles blowing out of the volcano (pretty cool I might add) I made a simple white cake with japanese branches and flowers on it. and a pregnant belly cake. My first one was a jungle theme. I had a mountain with water fall and a river and lake I had a mud pit and trees and all the animals to go with it! I have pictures I will post some later but pretty fun! I might have to start making them for money!!!

I will try to keep our blog updated a little more and try to add more pictures but till then!!!

to blog or not to blog

That is definently the question. I enjoy so much reading my friends blogs that I thought this would be the best way to keep everyone updated on our family. Tim and Kari are both full time workers for the state and rest of the time parents of Colby 2 1/2 and Parker 2 1/2 months. We enjoy every moment of our lives with our kids. Last friday Tim took the day off and all of us and YAYA drove up to Heber Valley Railroad to ride Thomas the Train. Colby LOVED it. I am not as into Thomas as the next person but I was able to set aside my personal feelings about it and take my kid who adores Thomas, Percy, James, Etc. We did get jipped. We paid for a 45 minute ride and only got about a 20 minute ride. I guess there was a mud slid over the tracks and it was unsafe so they had to cut the ride in half. Do you think we got a refund or anything for 1/2 amount of what we paid for....NOT! I guess it was worth seeing Colby enjoy himself. Parker well he could have cared less. He slept through the entire experience only waking up to eat. This last week we have had a lot of family time. My Grandfather Jay Davis passed away on thursday and so we have had a few family gatherings. He is probably much better now and not hurting or as sick but we are all still sad to not have him here with us anymore. Me and my sister Malene threw a last minute shower for my cousin's wife who is having a baby they live in california and we weren't going to see them before the baby came but we are able to see them since they came home for the funeral. It was a nice little shower. Tim and I saw Indiana Jones IV today it was our first date in a long time except for a temple date. It was good. But a little weird at the same time...but who wouldn't love anything with Harrison Ford in it!!!! Him or Tommy Lee Jones are worth seeing in anything! Well that's it for now. We will see how well I keep this bloggin thing up and will post pictures as I get them downloaded.!!
