Parker feeling better

Parker is doing better now. His oxygen is finally back to normal levels and his heart rate back to the 115's instead of 180's. I took him to the Doctors yesterday and Tim took him today but I got the real scoop. They think he has RSV. They don't really want to bother testing him because they would treat him the same no matter what. They think he may have gotten a Secondary infection which caused the high temperatures and really bad cough. So he is on antibiotics to help get rid of bacteria if he has it or prevent him from getting it. We can now Nebulize him a lot less. So things are looking better!!! It's sad watching your kids so sick. I can't imgine doing it with a terminal or really sick kid...I admire everyone who can and does!!

Sick Baby

So our Little baby Parker has had a slight cold for about 3 weeks. Well this last weekend it took a turn for the worse. He started with a bad cough really deep and congested and he looked like he was in pain when he coughed. Then he started with a fever sunday. We were having to be up with him in the nights. Monday morning we woke up and I took his temperature it was 102.1 and he wouldn't wake up for anything really lethargic. We made an appointment with our NP Lisa and she said he had pnemonia. His oxygen was down to 88 when it should have been up to 94. They gave him a shot to open his airway and nebulized him ( i guess that's what you call it) she sent us home with a machine to give him treatments and amoxicillan. While all of this was happening me and Tim were at work. I was so worried about him and was feeling guilty for being at work while he was home so sick. My mom and dad took him to the doctor for us. My mom said that he was so close to be hosptialized and we need to sleep with him sitting up. So that means we have to hold him all night....so needless to say I don't have to feel guilty because I stayed up with him last night and held him up and gave him treatments while Tim slept to go to work today and he will take care of him tonight while I go to work tomorrow. Poor little guy he is so sick and I feel so bad. None of my kids have ever been this sick.

Surgery Canceled

Thanks for all your kind words about my father. The Doctors have canceled his surgery for now. They want to wait for the genetic testing to come back and then they will decide if they are taking out the entire stomach or part of the stomach....We all think he wasn't thinking when he scheduled it for 3 days before Christmas and didn't want to worry about him and have to be in the hospital with him. We are grateful for the doctors concern and that they are making sure they make the right decision for my father's health!

December so far

We have had two more birthday's in the family my brother and Niece Morgan. We had Cake and Ice Cream and my brothers the day of his birthday and then the sunday after my nieces birthday we had dinner and cake at there house with family. I made the birthday cake...still no camera so they have the pictures but I will post it when I get them.....what a cake to make. IT was a castle cake.....It looked really good until I went to transport it to there house and 4 of the pillars fell over taking some of the decoration with it...but I fixed it good enough that hopefully in the picture you can't tell.... We have been busy doing christmas stuff and all that.

We found out last week that my father...who has been suffering the last year and half with stomach problems is going to have his stomach removed on the 22nd of this month. It's to high risk for him to keep his stomach because of the big tumors in it has a 60% chance of turning to cancer so they are going to remove it and all the lymp nodes around it to be safe. It is a scarey surgery so anyones prayers will be appreciated.....he is the worlds best father and I hope it makes him feel better I feel so bad watching him suffer in pain and sickness...he has gone through a lot with his health over the years and I just want him to feel better. They did decide to do the surgery around christmas because the sooner the better for my dad to feel better and hopefully easier to get babysitters. I still have a cousin in high school that will have time off and she will watch my kids for two days and my sister is taking two days of work to watch them and tim has two use or lose days at work to use...so we have it covered and working 4 tens at work we have two 4 day weekends so its a good time for that reason but I will be sad not having my father home for christmas. If everything goes well he will still be in the hospital for 7-10 days!

November 2008

I haven't posted in a while so I thought I would sum up November. I don't have all the pictures from november. We still don't have a camera so my mom has some of my cakes on her camera and Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving was a fun day this year. We went to my uncles house and all his kids that still live around here came. Only one was missing and my brother and his family were also missing. We had tons of food and we played games until into the evening. It was fun and it's always nice to play with games and hang out with my cousins!! It's nice to have them so close and be people that I can actually call my friends!! Well I decided that I would try black friday out to get some deals on things we are needing. So me and Jenn my neighbor and friend decided to venture out. I dragged my cousin Liz along also. We started at Walmart....what a zoo...crazy people let me tell ya. Things were gone in less than a minute. luckly it wasn't what we came there for. We headed to Kohl's, then Shopko and then Smith's market place. IT was fun to hang out with them and go shopping. I was tired though and boy did my feet hurt. We ended the morning with Breakfast at dee's. We had such a busy november I hope that I remember everything we did. Below are some pictures but some of them didn't happen in november I just found the pictures.

This i Colby being silly with his Big Boy underwear. We thought if we bought him Buzz lightyear and other Disney big boy underwear it would entice him to go potty on the toilet....well needless to say that and many other attempts haven't worked...but they do look good on his head....you can tell it was more summer time for this picture because my dad is wearing shorts in the background.....and my dad get's cold easily so it was summer with this one...sorry it's sideways!

This is the Diego Cake I made my niece for her birthday Her and Colby love Diego and Dora. She had a Diego Party Colby had to miss so I didn't get to see her reaction to the cake but My brother seemed pretty impressed

The next two cakes are a cake I made in September for my grandma. I tried a new icing and stuff so it doesn't look very good but it tasted good. She went through the temple and took her endowments out. It was an awesome experience and I was glad I was there to see it happen. I can't wait to see her sealed to my grandpa and their kids. We miss him a lot and it will be great to know that they can live forever as a family! A life long dream is coming true!!

Ok so I thought I would show you my very first cake ever that I made....This is a barbie cake I made for an old Co-worker's daughter...man I had to have been about 6 or 7 years ago. It actually has been my best barbie cake ever.....I think I made a total mess of one I made for my cousin a couple years ago...I think I owe her a new one! For free

In november while shopping at walmart they were doing free pictures with santa. Colby was excited to share with santa what he wanted for christmas. It's changed from GEO Trax (Thanks to commercials he knows what this is) to Thomas the Choo choo train that comes out of a water fall. I guess we will have to see if he is a good boy or not and if santa brings it to him!! Parker kept staring at santa like what the freak is that!

Now to the reason we missed Madison's birthday party for the kids....Disney On Ice.....Colby was completely mesmorized for the first half.....We coudln't get him to look away. It was so cute. He Loved seeing buzz lightyear on ice(the reason we went) He enjoyed his buzz toys he got ....He really likes the buzz lightyear arm his aunt bought him.....it makes lots of noise...the rest of us say THANKS Aunt weene weene!

This is a cake I made for Jenn's Birthday It was chocolate cake that I crushed grasshopper cookies into the batter and baked then I put chocolate whipped cream on the top with a slight bit of mint flavoring...I put fresh raspberries and then I covered mint leaves with chocolate to make the chocolate mint leaves! It was good. I love working with the whipped topping...this was a really easy cake to make!

Last but not least....some of the ladies in our circle went to lunch to celebrate birthdays...Three of the ladies have birthdays in oct and nov. WE actually went on Kathy's birthday...we call her Kafy at our house because that is what Colby calls her ....he loves Kafy and derick......Jenn's was earlier that week and Julianna's was in october. Mine and Trina well we are summer babies....so it was our turn to buy! I was so fun. We went to Ruth's diner up emigration canyon..I was I think the only one who hadn't been there. It was good...they have the fries with the crunchy top...like Galaxy Diner (if anyone lived here long enough to remember that place) loved it!!!

Well that's about it for november! I think.

Mr Potato Head?

So today Colby woke up from his nap crying. Which he usually cries when he hasn't slept enough and woke from a deeper sleep. I went in to see what was wrong and in the midst of crying he said...."I want a Mr Potato head Cake!" I repeated it to make sure that is what he said. and he said Un huh! It was so so cute....maybe his mom make too many cakes? I guess maybe I will have to try a Mr Potato head cake!

family pictures

We had our family pictures taken last week. We just asked a friend Audrey that lives by us to take our pictures because she always has cute pictures of her kids that she takes. So I asked her and she said yes. She said it was her first time doing family pictures. She did an awesome job. They are the best we have had... Here is a sample of the pictures we had taken. We did them at WX city park were a lot of fall leaves had fallen.

Picture time

We got Colby his Buzz Lightyear halloween costume and we tried it on so we had a picture taking session and got some cute ones of Parker too. I thought I would share. You can see how big Parker is getting.

Disclaimer

I have been told by Tim I misspell and mis type words. Sorry..I am usually in a hurry so I really don't care. I hope you get what I mean

Colby's Birthday Party

We had Colby's third birthday party with some of his friends. It was fun for him. Of course all the kids behaved themselves but the birthday boy. It was a Buzz lightyear birthday party. We had it in our unfinished basement. We put up buzz lightyear green on our walls to hide ours and my brothers storage. I assigned each child a character from toy story. We had Woody, Bullseye, Ham, Mr and Mrs potato head Etc. All but two kids we invited showed up so we had 13-14 kids. We played a matching game with the characters and then I hid pictures of their character around the room and they found them. We had cake and Ice Cream and played random games like duck duck goose and red rover red rover. Colby had fun and got way to many toys. But he has had fun playing with all of them. We had my family over on Colby's actual birthday and had Hamburgers, french fries (colby's request) and salad and more cake and Ice cream. Below is a picture of the cake I made for Colby's birthday. It's the scene in Toy Story 2 (colby's favorite) where the toys are crossing the road under cones to Al's Toy Barn. I only had Rex and Buz as actual figurines so if you look close one is Slinky Dog slink I made out of Gum paste and put between two cones because that's what he had in the movie and I put hams feet and Mr potato head's feet under cones I made out of gum paste also. I know everything is out of porportion but you get the picture. The cones are bigger then the tipped over semi!

5 days and counting

In 5 more days I will have a 3 year old. How time as flied by. I am in the process of making his Toy story Birthday cake today I started making some of the things for the cake with Gum Paste. Colby wanted to help so I gave him a piece. It's like playdough but dries out really fast. He was rolling it out and making a worm. My mom asked him what he was doing. He said Grandma I am making a cake with my mommy! It's so sweet. I wish I could stay home every day with him! He's so fun to be around. He has been determined since day one that he was going to have a Buzz Lightyear Birthday Party so a bunch of his friends are coming over Saturday for a party. I invited each kid and assigned them to be a Character from the show. I hope it turns out fun!!! I know he is excited. And if you ask him He is already 3. Some of the thing Colby is doing. He will burp or pass gas...I know I should be proud and he will say "Excuse me.....did I scare you" This was also a little thing he said to me last night.. he was asking to play hide and seek he said "ok I will hide and you come find me...you go into my bedroom and say are you in the closet...no....are you under the bed....no......is colby in Parker's room....no...." It was so cute. He just rehearsed a hide and seek game we have played before. He usually hides in really easy spots or tells us where he is going to hide so we will talk loud and act like its really hard to find him. I love this boy!!!

Bad cough and Teeth

My poor little Parker is getting 4 teeth all at one time. At first I thought he was just getting his big two upper teeth but come to find out the two just one both sides of the big teeth just cut through today and the big ones are still coming. He's had some fussy moments too. Since I am off work still until this thursday post surgery I have got to spend some time with my boths how fun it has been. I can't lift them but it's been fun. At lunch today Parker was sitting on the table next to me As I picked up a piece of Colby's treat he didn't want I ate a bite of it and took it right past Parkers face not knowing he would throw a fit that he didn't get anything as it went by. I just thought he was crying about something else. So after Colby took a nap and my mom ate her lunch I actually got to eat mine. and My mom was holding him by me and each time I took a bite he Arched his back and started crying. This was all after he just ate almost a whole yogurt( he would have eaten the whole thing but I didn't think his little body should have that much) So I took him in my arms as I ate and he opened his mouth everytime I went to take a bit. So I let him have a taste each time and he enjoyed it. It was just a sandwhich wrap so he just was able to like some of the dressing off the tortilla. He thouroughly enjoyed himself. He's not suppose to have table food for another couple of months but he wants it bad. He is so cute.

He has also learned to fake cough. He will do a little fake cough and we will say oh bad cough and he will smile at you. The first day he did it my grandma was holding him and my entire family was sitting around on Sunday after Sunday dinner and My Grandma wasn't talking to him or paying attention. So he turned to her and did the fake cough and she talked to him and he started to smile and laugh. And today when my Uncle Jim came by for a visit my mom was talking to him and Parker was fake coughing so my mom would pay attention to him. It is so cute!!!

Surgery

So I have been sick with Nauseousness for about 5 weeks and then I started with Liver pain. Went to the Dr a couple of times. I got on prilosec incase I was having some of my dads stomach problems. Then the pain came so I got a CT done they thought they saw gall stones so I went to a surgeon on Monday. He said it sounds and looks like gall bladder disease....well needless to say once you ahve stones they don't go away you just get attacks whenever they feel like it. So he if you want it out I had a cancellation for tomorrow or I will be out of town for a couple weeks and we can take care of it after that or whenever you like. I was at a good place when I left work so I decided to do it Tues oct 7th...so here I am two days post op with a body part missing. I hope it makes me feel better after the scars are healed. I had a scary thing no one told me about but Tim. But I guess somebody labeled the Anethesia wrong and I got epidural drug in my IV instead of Dye and so I had to have an antidote and then they had to monitor me for Cardiac arrest. I heard someone talking to my nurse as I was coming out of it about Cardiac arrest and ICU but when I could talk and asked how it went she said fine. I am going to ge my medical records so I know what really happened. Tim Didn't quite get what the doctor told him what happened. But everything went good and I am fine. My darn shoulder hurts more than the 4 incisions. I guess they pump you full of air doing surgery and you get phantom shoulder pain.

September 2008

We have had a busy month....I mean it was National Stay at home week on TV starting this month.....We have our schedule but Wednesdays are the only day we don't have a show we are addicted too during weekdays. I have been having my cake classes on Mondays, I play on the Ward volleyball team on Tuesday nights....for some reason when I get put on one or the other of the two teams our ward has that team looses.....not good! I hope it's really not my fault. Tim is playing on our ward football team on thursday nights. They are doing good. We got most of yard ready for the winter. Pulling up our petunias and planting bulbs for the spring. We have gotten our first year of raspberries....not enough yet to make jelly or something but we have had a few snacks. We keep busy. We love our boys.

Parkers has learned to sit up. He is starting to jabber. He has only rolled over a couple of times but is so so so cute. Colby can make him laugh just by looking at him. He is so precious and we love every moment.

Colby just says the funniest thing everyday. He talks better and can understand so much I just can't believe how big he is getting. He will be 3 in 19 days......

We went to the fair this month and looked at the animals. We ate at the Cow association(or whatever) and had fresh tender beef sandwhichs. My sister and sister in law weren't impressed but the rest of us liked it. Me and my mom shared a bavarian cream funnel cake...not as good as I thought it would be. We all got cheap sunglasses there. Tim and I went into the Dish Tv truck....well we ended up signing up so Tim could see all his Michigan Games....and We have Tivo now...so we can record without tapes. We record a lot of our shows we don't want Colby to see (maybe we shouldn't be watching either) We got the internet...but our modem hasn't come yet and so we don't have it yet and we will inherit an old Computer from my parents.

That's our month in a nutshell...sorry for rambling.

Fondant and Gum Paste Cake Finale

Here are pictures of my Fondant and Gum Paste Cake Finale cake. I had an issue with the Marshmallow fondant. I made it myself and it was a little difficult to work with...but maybe I will get better. It tastes better than other fondants. I made the flowers with Gum Paste. I love Calla Lillies so when she showed us how to make them I just had to make them for my cake. The cake was Chocolate cake with Grasshopper cookies crushed into it and I flavored the Fondant Mint....IT was good...rich but good. Thanks to those who helped us eat it.

Salsa, Salsa and More Salsa

So I continued my yearly tradition of bottling salsa. My neighbor Jenn has joined me the last two years to continue this tradition. It's nice to have help and more supplies. This year we made some changes....we did it a lot more effecient then our first time together. And it went a lot faster. We added more peppers and onions. It was good. We bottled 70 Pints....did you hear that 70!!! It was awesome. We now should have enough to last till next season. Here are some pictures from that fun and exciting time.

The most important thing....the babysitter....Tim was wonderful to take care of the kids and play with them.

See they had tons of fun. Colby loved playing with Tanner. Colby woke up from his nap that afternoon and said I want Tanner. It was so cute.

Pureeing the ingredients..it's alot faster than hand chopping.

Me and Jenn Filling the bottles

The finished product. I had to process my bottles three times...I think I filled them too full.

Jenn and I posing so cute....I hope you realize I hadn't done my hair or showered for the day.

Course II Final Cake

I finished Course II in my cake decorating classs. It focused on flowers and borders and basket weaving. All which was on the final cake. We used Royal Icing (Icing they use to hold ginger bread houses together) We made the flowers all through the month because when they are made out of royal icing they can last for years. It's just sugar, water and meringue powder so it taste like sugar but is hard and not that tasty to eat but it can make a pretty cake. When in the class I swear it was 90 degrees. My elbow pits were sweating etc....so my icing was melting as I was doing the basketweave and by the time I got home one of the flowers had put to much weight on the basketweave and it fell and exposed the cake. But it didn't totally ruin the cake. I gave the cake to the Wolfley because Craig was begining for a friday cake( which is excuse for me making him was a cake was just because it's friday and I am home on fridays to make him one)

The flowers I made and put on the cake was Victorian Roses, Primroses, Apple Blossoms, Violets, Chrysanthumums, Daffodils, Daisys and Pansy's.

My class next month is Fondant and Gum paste!! It will be fun... but it will be nice if Michaels would actually have the product in stock for me to buy for it!

Parker's First Teeth & Colby's Cute Sayings

Parker got his first two teeth this week. His first tooth came through on Monday and then Saturday his second tooth came through. It was his middle bottom teeth. He is 5 1/2 months old. He was such a good boy when he got them and is cute. His is starting to stare at people and really focus on them. He smiles at everyone he sees and smiles at him. He is a really happy boy and we love having him in our family. He has been on Solid foods for about 2 months and he loves to eat!!! He is a Davis through and through.

Colby is getting bigger every day. He is really cute and says the cutest things. He is starting to say "um no thank you" and When I ask why he does suff or likes something he say "Because I mean" For example "Colby why did you get out of bed" "Because it means I woke up". He is really into Toy story Movies and The bee movie. He will say "Black and Yellow....Hello" and he loves Buzz Lightyear and puts a golf club behind his back and runs around saying he's buzz and then he wants us to fly him and when we put him down he says "That was falling with Style". Style sounds more like Kyle. When we were camping we were all in our friends tent getting dressed for the day and Tim was taking off the shirt from the day before and right when he lifted up his arms colby said "Dad what's that smell" I about busted a gut laughing it was so funny and perfect timing. He has a cute personality and he is getting very creative.

More Cakes

I made this cake for a bridal shower my sister had a work for a co-worker. We made the cake and she didn't know if it was going to feed all the people she needed to so we made the cupcakes to match. I had a few errors but hopefully they weren't to noticeable. She said everyone liked it!! But man those flowers took all day saturday to do! But I have tons extra if anyone ever wants one like this!!!

Guests at Selecthealth's summer party!

My sister Malene works for Selecthealth and she invited me to be her guest at their summer party. It was at Franklin Covey field. We had lunch. Hot dogs and Hamburgers and everything that goes with those. They had a lot of Activities for kids so we picked one and did the face paintings. It was fun but extremely hot! The next saturday they all got to go to a bee's game and bring their families. Luckly my sister Scored enough tickets to take her and my family with her!! Colby got kind of bored but it was fun!! We got the tickets in the shade so it was perfect. The Bee's got blown out in the game so we left early! It was late for the kids too.

Me, Malene and Megan (malene's co-worker/friend/carpool buddy etc.)

Malene's face painting

I didn't want the painting on my face so I had a baseball put on my leg it was fitting for the baseball field we were at and Tim was playing in the Region softball tournament for church that day too! I also have two boys and I thought Colby would think it was cool!

New Car!!!

We are officially inducted into the "Mormon Community" We bought a mini van! We love it! It's so roomy and has such great fetures and kids are easier to get in and out of it!! Probably till we have to put kids in the back seat! We decided to finally buy a mini van after a year of hemming and hawing over it and going camping and having to take 2 cars! It's a 2008 Toyota Sienna...we would recommend it to anyone!
